چکیده
The last few years have seen an explosion of interest in hydrodynamic effects interacting electron systems ultra-pure materials. One such material, graphene, is not only excellent platform for the experimental realization flow electrons, but also allows a controlled derivation equations on basis kinetic theory. resulting theory electronic transport graphene yields quantitative predictions experimentally relevant quantities, e.g. viscosity, electrical conductivity, etc. Here I review recent theoretical advances field, compare charge carriers with relativistic hydrodynamics and experiments, discuss applications approach to novel materials beyond graphene.

Hydrodynamic instability of confined two-dimensional electron flow in semiconductors
Hydrodynamic instabilities in two-dimensional electron flow in ungated semiconductors are studied here. The driving force for the electrons is an imposed voltage difference that generates a unidimensional electric field inside the semiconductor and its surroundings. The governing equations are linearized for small perturbations around the steady-flow solution. The eigenvalue spectrum determinin...
متن کاملA Coherent-State Approach to Two-dimensional Electron Magnetism
We study in this paper the possible occurrence of orbital magnetim for twodimensional electrons confined by a harmonic potential in various regimes of temperature and magnetic field. Standard coherent state families are used for calculating symbols of various involved observables like thermodynamical potential, magnetic moment, or spatial distribution of current. Their expressions are given in ...
متن کاملElectron localization function for two-dimensional systems
The concept of the electron localization function ELF is extended to two-dimensional 2D electron systems. We show that the topological properties of the ELF in two dimensions are considerably simpler than in molecules studied previously. We compute the ELF and demonstrate its usefulness for various physical 2D systems focusing on semiconductor quantum dots that effectively correspond to a confi...
متن کاملElectron-electron scattering in linear transport in two-dimensional systems.
We describe a method for numerically incorporating electron–electron scattering in quantum wells for small deviations of the distribution function from equilibrium, within the framework of the Boltzmann equation. For a given temperature T and density n, a symmetric matrix needs to be evaluated only once, and henceforth it can be used to describe electron–electron scattering in any Boltzmann equ...
متن کاملElectron-electron interactions and two-dimensional-two-dimensional tunneling.
We derive and evaluate expressions for the dc tunneling conductance between interacting two-dimensional electron systems at non-zero temperature. The possibility of using the dependence of the tunneling conductance on voltage and temperature to determine the temperature-dependent electronelectron scattering rate at the Fermi energy is discussed. The finite electronic lifetime produced by electr...
